Rich with terrific scenery and history it is little surprise that the Yorkshire Dales was one of the first National Parks. Our base, Harrogate, is situated on the eastern edge of the Dales and is a beautiful spa town. RHS Harlow Carr Gardens and Betty's Tea Rooms are experiences not to be forgotten. We will be staying at the three-centuries-old White Swan Hotel which is located near in the town centre and was Agatha Christie was once an incognito guest there. Dinner and Breakfast is included. There is a lift to all floors. All rooms are en suite with televisions, tea and
coffee making facilities and hairdryers.
Provisional Itinerary:
Day 1: Leisurely journey from the West Midlands, arriving in Harrogate mid-afternoon.
Day 2: Full day excursion, visiting the picturesque town of Richmond before continuing over Wensleydale to the remote market town of Hawes. We then turn towards the small Cathedral City of Ripon before returning to the hotel.
Day 3: Full day excursion. We skirt the southern edge of the Dales, visiting the famous market town of Skipton. We then head to the Cumbrian border and the artists' paradise at Kirkby Lonsdale. We retrace our steps to Harrogate, stopping at Settle for a refreshments.
Day 4: At leisure in Harrogate.
Day 5: Return to the Midlands.
