The Tayside area provides an excellent base for exploring the beautiful Angus coast, the Kingdom of Fife and the surrounding countryside, with dramatic coastal scenery, sandy beaches, historic towns and picturesque fishing villages. Our half board accommodation is at the Woodlands Hotel in Broughty Ferry, which has a relaxed atmosphere being set among its own mature wooded gardens. Broughty Ferry features a modest harbour with a 15th century castle overlooking the beach, nature reserve and Tay estuary. The hotel’s leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room. It has a lift and is a short bus ride from the centre of Dundee. We stay for 6 nights, allowing plenty of time to take in the stunning scenery and fascinating heritage of Angus, Fife and Tayside.

Provisional Itinerary:

Day 1: Early morning departure form the West Midlands. We make two stops on the journey one mid-morning and one for lunchtime before arriving at our hotel mid-afternoon.

Day 2: A late morning departure, heading to the famous university city of St Andrews.

Day 3: We head north along the Angus Coast, visiting the towns of Arbroath and Stonehaven.

Day 4: A full day excursion to the Fife, visiting Falkland and then heading to the coast to visit the traditional fishing villages of Crail and Anstruther.

Day 5: Full day excursion. First we visit the historic City of Dunfermline. We then continue across the Firth of Forth to South Queensferry to admire the fabulous bridges where there will be an opportunity for a boat cruise.

Day 6: At leisure in Broughty Ferry. An opportunity to take a bus to Dundee and visit the Victoria & Albert Museum and the RRS Discovery.

Day 7: We return to the West Midlands after a leisurely breakfast.
