Escape from the everyday life on this unique tour of one of Britain's most famous, yet mysterious, areas. Set at the base of Haytor on Dartmoor, The Moorland Hotel, where we are stay for 4 nights dinner, bed and breakfast, boasts 11 acres of landscaped grounds, paddocks and woodland. Wild ponies are often found grazing nearby and the open expanse of the moor provides opportunities for adventurous walking along with breath taking views. Agatha Christie wrote her very first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, over a two week stay at this wonderful retreat. There is a lift to most floors and all rooms include, tea & coffee making facilities, television, en-suite bathrooms with
walk-in shower, hairdryer, iron and ironing board.  


Provisional Itinerary:

Day 1: Mid-morning departure from the Midlands. We stop for a lunch break near Bristol and then continue south, arriving at our hotel mid-afternoon.

Day 2: A leisurely excursion to the ancient town of Totnes via Buckfast Abbey.

Day 3: Full day excursion. We journey across the Moor, visiting Post Bridge, Princetown and Tavistock

Day 4: Morning excursion to Widecombe in the Moor. Returning to the hotel early afternoon.

Day 5: Return to the Midlands after breakfast.
